A new 150 m2 extension to the JWNC has been completed after a 10 weeks build. The Centre has a 10 year business plan in place to replace and upgrade the equipment and capability. This expansion is to house a new cluster tool awarded through a £3M EPSRC Capital for Great Technologies awards with the aim to improve the energy efficiency performance of electronic and optoelectronic devices for a large range of applications.
The cluster tool is scheduled to be delivered in June 2014 and arrived exactly on schedule. The tool is expected to be available for general use by the end of the year and the details if the research that it will enable can be found here.
